Shri Anna Hazare inaugurated Harvesto Soil Testing Lab at his village Ralegan-Siddhi in Maharashtra this week. Anna Hazare appreciated the organisation for its innovative technology and its impact on farmers and agriculture sector in India. He emphasised on the importance of soil testing for farmers and urged the farmers of his village to make use of the Harvesto Soil Testing Lab and get their soil tested and do fertiliser application only as per the soil testing report.
Mr Harsh Dahiya, Director of Harvesto, thanked Shri Anna Hazare and Mr Manohar for this noble gesture. Harsh Dahiya added that this soil testing lab is part of their mission to make soil testing facilities available to all farmers across the country at their doorstep.
Shri Anna Hazare is a world renowned Indian social activist who led movements to promote rural development, and increase government transparency. In addition to organising and encouraging grassroots movements, Hazare frequently conducted hunger strikes to further his causes—a tactic reminiscent, to many, of the work of Mahatma Gandhi.
Farmers at Ralegan Siddi will now be able to get soil testing report instantly which will tell them the nutrient profile of their soil on 14 parameters and will also tell which fertiliser to use in how much quantity based on the crop they want to grow. Farmers of Ralegan Siddhi and nearby villages appreciated Shri Anna Hazare and Shri Manohar for bringing this cutting edge technology to their village.
